In the backyard of Vivek and Amee was held a quaint havan (fire ceremony) for the couple's diksha (initiation). They are an outstanding duo who are leading the charge of Krishna consciousness in the area. They hold weekly functions of chanting, worship, and feasting. And now they just completed this past weekend's outdoor Chariot Fest. It went so well. We are proud of them.
By the way, their newly acquired names are Vaikuntha (meaning, 'the spiritual realm') and Anandi ('spiritual pleasure'). Devotees from Toronto/Brampton came to assist and support, and they and some Calgarians helped with the weekend's program.
Some of our crew flew back east, while Mahadeva, Annapurna, and Gaurav with his Tesla machine, will be mobile for the remainder of our trip through various communities and provinces. It is a rather leisurely, and sometimes hectic journey, but we are loving it.
After some Zoom calls for meetings and classes, the balance of our troupe presented mantra and "Tales from Trails" at a Mennonite church facility with yoga instructor, Joel, whom I've met before in my travels in this large but small world. It was really a great bunch of yogis who came almost at a moment's notice.
"What are we doing here?" asked one of them.
"Some bhakti thing," answered the other before we got started.
The icing on the cake for this event was the 'chants and dance' segment. It always keeps the fire going after stoking it.
