TWO MEN

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2025

Durban/Joburg/Mauritius

Today is a flying day. I had time to reflect. On the previous day at the Ratha site, a man came to me, knelt before me, raised my right hand, and placed his brow against the back of my hand. In desperation he pleaded, “I've been on the streets for three weeks. Alcohol has done it to me. Please help!”

Naturally, I felt for the middle-aged man of Indian decent, and I let him know I would offer prayers and think of him. He was grateful for that. I do sometimes question whether I am doing alright as some kind of sadhu.  My portfolio calls for helping people in despair and so here, I am available. The man seemed capable or competent, but evidently, he has some noose around his neck with drinking. May he be guided by God, the Supersoul.

While on Air Mauritius, one flight attendant came to me and asked if I had a few short minutes. I let him know I'm glad to be of some service. Then he revealed what was on his mind. “My Father passed two years ago. I get emotional thinking about him and all he did for me. He's on my mind a lot.”

I offered to suggest that it is a wholesome sentiment. “I'm sure he wants you to be always active, moving forward with responsibility. Take some time for the happy past, dwell with future plans, and get right down with the present.  Share and divide the time.  God’s with you on those circumstances.”
