Montreal, Quebec

It’s a stimulating episode always when travelling, to say the least.  You meet people from all walks of life with their stories, at least, opinions – some strong, some balanced, some biased, some unbiased.  My travels take me east to Montreal.  On the way, I met Patrick, and we talked about demographics and their ever-changing nature.  Particularly, he was expressing concern for what he perceived as the declining white race.

I also met a local who worked in a cheese factory but shifted to music.  And in that car from one of those ride-share arrangements, was a Chinese woman, settled in Canada for many years, who brought up the point that the country has changed much culturally and politically.  Sitting next to me in the vehicle was a young chap from India who works in a mine in Labrador City, population 10,000 and very remote.  He said it’s not that easy to be vegetarian there, being so far from so-called civilization, although nature is all around in its usual beauty.

When I arrived at the Metro station in Montreal for pickup, I opened my world to devotee life.  To take me to the temple were Lazaro and Ajita, the driver.  At the destination point, I immediately went for darshan, the viewing of the deities, Radha Manohara.  Beautiful, as usual.  Then came a plate of asparagus.  Yummy!

Eventually, evening rolled in and the Sunday program where I was invited to give the talk.  I volunteered to speak on the life and contributions of Chaitanya, which is always a pleasure.

A long drive and long talks with individuals formed the bulk of the day.  I realized I hadn’t walked a real pace, so I jumped outside to the melting of snow and got some steps in.
