Pralambhasura was a mystic up to no good. His normal feature was that of a demon, but because he was endowed with abilities beyond the normal human bar, he could change his form at will. Cowardly, he assumed the shape of an innocent-looking gopa (cowherd boy). In this way, he could mingle with the friends of Krishna during their play, and at an opportune time, strike with his nastiness.
The game was tug-of-war and the side that was victorious would be placed on the shoulders of the defeated and go for a ride. The split amongst the boys was team Krishna and team Balarama. The ‘new kid on the block’ was Pralambha (for short), an agent of the notorious Kamsa.
When Krishna’s side lost, his crew had to shoulder the winners, and it was Pralambha’s back that earned the honour, if you will, to take Balarama around. At a particular point, the conniving fellow moved swiftly on his feet and removed himself from the playmates. That was his scheme.
As he ran off with dear Balarama, his original ghastly self started to come through to reveal his true colours. He was an ugly badass, and Balarama saw the demon transform before his very eyes. Balarama acted quickly, raised his fist, and slammed down on the fellow, thus, doing major damage and destroying Pralambha’s operations and even Pralambha, himself. Evil was ousted.

The above story formed the basis of the morning Bhagavatam class, after which, I walked and took photos of the evening coming to a close.
