Halifax, Nova Scotia
Everyone should touch nature every day of their lives. The ground, the air, the wind, the sun, the space – all are donors, givers.
On the BLT trail as the sun beckoned us, we made those contacts. “Clear and clean” is the way I would describe communication with these elements. Nothing complicated. And Halifax, being a coastal city, it’s easy to get fog and overcast conditions. Whatever the weather, there is some language coming through. So far, the sun has been present.
It was a pleasure spending time with Honourable Andy Fillmore, the mayor, and Vishal Bharadwaj, another statesman, who showed up for a friend-raiser all in support of our new project as mentioned in the previous day’s blog. I am getting used to some of the regular faces in the community here. Like anywhere, they are diverse, and that’s what makes life fun.
Amongst the group I see wise, seasoned men. I see motherly types. I see attractive young women. There are eager young men ready to take up whatever it takes. I see young frivolous children scurrying about. They are the happiest. Sweet angels appearing like humans, or vice versa, are in our midst.
Just anytime there is bhakti around, it brings around the best.
I see established people, well off. I see those looking for a job or a sense of belonging. I heard one of the international students ask one of our organizers of the Krishna conscious weekly programs, this:
“Please keep me busy so that I don’t get myself into trouble?”
