I have been driven to various locations with the sole purpose to share the message of Krishna, and guru, Prabhupada.  They are not my own takes on life, but the words of wisdom from the acharyas of the past.  Acharyas are teachers who spoke and acted upon such wisdom that focused on the theme of surrender.

I hope that I am doing my job as a monk following in the footsteps of the great masters.  A big part of succeeding in the mission is to deliver the philosophy in relevant, modern day terms.  I know that when speaking to a crowd, which was two today, that it’s about connecting and not just being a lecturer.  That, I am not, but rhetorical to some extent.  I try to use real everyday examples to make a point.  I try humour.  I often end a point with a question for effect.  I do have a long way to go.  A sign that the message is sinking in is when you have the recipients’ attention.  They have questions in the end and some appreciations.

I spoke at a north end temple in the morning and a south end one by evening.  Opening up a class (message) with citing the Bhagavad-gita is most empowering.  When kids in the gatherings come to give hugs, then you know there’s been some resonating.

These last two days, in fact, have been fun filled with topics on spiritual warriorism, the power of chanting, how to accept gay folks in our mission, what about onions and garlic, how to be real, and not a pesky fanatic.
