Fredericton, New Brunswick
Nityananda and I took that Trans Canada Trail, the other side, leading to that best of bridges for pedestrians, “The Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge.” Before arriving at that iconic thoroughfare, we were benefitting from the oxygen delivering trees on either of the trail’s side, which included of cedars, white pines, oaks, maples, birches – they were our companions.
It is surprising how well used this paved trail actually is. Mostly they are pedestrians. I would say that if you have the chance to walk, stay away from vehicles and stick to sanity.
To keep fuelled we were dining at the home of our hosts, Kadambha and Subhadra and were fed everything that taste could offer to the palate. With a little breathing space in between a great trek, a great meal and the Saturday Krishna Open House, the day was very honestly superb. Any little raindrops during the outdoor explore did not deter us.
Oh, and during the drizzle, Nityananda videoed me offering congratulations to students with the Bhaktivedanta Academy at Noida, India. On the first take, the 5-minute plus message was created and sent, hopefully on time for the scheduled viewing.
My message was in a capsule. Chapter 2 of the Gita. Here’s how it starts which is found in whole in my new book “The Walking Monk Poems.”
“Once you were in the body of a very small child
Then you grew up to become a little wild
Your body as a youth showed all the passion
When people carry on in a certain kind of fashion”
My message for the evening was from Chapter 9. In essence the verse 34 is about coming closer to Krishna, life’s purpose.
MAY THE SOURCE BE WITH YOU!
