Some good news came from a disciple/student regarding our beloved Srila Prabhupada.
“Today, at Maha Kumbh Mela 2025, the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad awarded the prestigious title ‘Vishwa Guru’ to His Divine Grace Abhaya Charanaravinda Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder Acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).
“This historical moment certifies the incomparable contribution of Srila Prabhupada in the Renaissance of Sanatan Dharma and Bhakti movement. His Divine Grace introduced millions of people around the world with Krishna Bhakti by propagating the teachings of Bhagavad Gita and Vedic culture.
“This title has not been given to any other spiritual personality till date, which reflects the extraordinary achievements of Srila Prabhupada.”
The above message regarding the above honourable title is very encouraging. When I joined in the early 70s, the public opinion about us, ISKCON, and its founder, was met with curiosity and skepticism. By the 80s, there were mixed feelings. In the west, there was less of an opinion. We were quiet. In India, we were beginning to grow. By the 90s, the world began to embrace a mosaic of cultures and concepts. India was becoming more and more favourable to an effective Hare Krishna Movement. With our new millennium, at least the developed world accepted us as a peaceful movement contributing some value. India continues to hug us.
