Energy is a very active principle and that is personally felt by myself. On this second day of MANtra endeavouring to piece the play together was just that - a lot of energy output. It was a labour of love, for sure. My directorship was necessary for practice even during MANtra sessions, so I missed some good presentations.
I was fortunate to be present during the women’s panel which was so revealing. My dear god sister, Praharana spoke about the real tough times she had when a wave of anti-women sentiments swept North America. She told some horror stories of what some women went through in the mid seventies and all due to the misinterpretations of the books by Divine Grace, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Along with Prahasana from Toronto, was Rukmini from D.C. and another lady, a therapist from the States. I had to leave the presentation on how men can be better in their protective roles in order to tend to our drama performance presentations. I was told that the woman received a standing ovation from the male audience.
Now how was the play ? Saturday night is always entertainment night. At 7:30 p.m. we were on for “The Jagannath Story” drama where I do all the voices and several sound effects. That’s what I mean about putting out energy. My voice was used to some interesting limits. Anyways that’s all forgotten when the audience responded to an enthusiastic crowd.
