Greektown, Toronto

It’s been a while since I came to the Greek section of T.O. (Toronto), or as Drake calls it, The Six, because of the six boroughs that make up the city. Danforth is the street that forms the hub of Greektown, a place of Greek sign posts and shish kebab restaurants. In the summer, a major parade takes place on Danforth where someone is dressed as Alexander the Great on horseback, and there’s song, dance, and drumming (drinking, too).

SOME OF TODAY’S NICE PEOPLE (KITCHENER).

The Bloor Viaduct spans over Don Valley as a bridge. I love walking over bridges. It is from that bridge that you hit Danforth from Bloor and then to reach Pape where a new subway station will be constructed for an ever growing need will accommodate more commuters.

My destination is the home of Radha Gopinath and Yasomati. There were my godbrothers Daksin, Dharma Prana, and Harakumara. Also present was their driver, Karuna Sindhu who in the past assisted me in my marathons in the USA and Canada. Lo and behold, there was also Ajamila, my kirtan buddy for a number of years. Tusti Mohan from Mississauga, soft and mellow, also graced us with his presence.

The main features of our sangha was chanting, the food, and the desert which was each other.

Actually, the key to success in life is the good company you keep. That is the real reinforcement to our existence which is meant for spiritual development. Humans build roads, bridges, condos, trains, etc.

We must build up our spiritual potential. That is numero uno!

MAY THE SOURCE BE WITH YOU!
