CAN'T BE BAD

Tuesday, February 13th, 2024

Downtown Toronto

I had given our members of Bhakti academy the idea to consider Ripley’s “Aquarium” as a destination for one of their Tuesday outings and today it came into fruition. I tagged along. What did we see?

Millions of species. Amongst those popular to our group were the stingrays, jelly fish, sea turtles, octopus and sea horses. We are all quite enthralled by these guys in the graceful glide through aquarium waters of content. If you look into the eyes of some of these creatures it is a sure way to meet them.

You may whisper if you can through the glass, “I was one of you before”. Of course it falls on deaf years but you would hope that some kind of connection resonates. I tried "to connect" with one of the fish, big-eyed and beautiful. He was stationary, meditative, like a yogi. Quite impressive!

The display of aquatic families was such that you can't get enough. The numbers of them insurmountable. We all came our of Aquarium enhanced in appreciation. One of our girls said, "The Creator is so amazing - the diversity, the colours, their way of being - just puts you in awe."

I couldn't agree more.

There was one more item of appreciation that stirred up inside of me. In contemplation, I thought, "The incredible work and research that goes behind these exhibitions is most inspiring. And inspiration is what gives life. Visiting such places that conjures up some level of humility can't be bad.
