BODY AND SOUL PROGRESS

As part of their vacationing plan, some tourists at Belle Mare go for horseback riding. For those of us locals, devotees, we take the time to stick to our own regimen, and that in itself is a relaxer.

After the hour japa walkathon, we go for the ocean. Those of us with brahminical initiation begin with chanting gayatri mantras for purification. We are half submerged as we watch the sun peeking over the horizon. It is a divine experience. I consider myself very fortunate to be in Mauritius because April is perhaps the best month of the year weather wise.

At another neighboring village, a devoted person by the name Hari Seva, invited us to his temple which is adorned with deities of Gaura and Nitai. He is incrementally constructing this nice facility which was filled up in no time this evening. The congregation here in camp de Marque has been energized by talks on Rama. I took the liberty to explain that Rama and Krishna are two different personalities of the One Supreme. Vedic philosophy can get a trite complex at times. When you speak about God and not the devil, you can have mystical expectations.

Another beautiful element of today was a video chat with another monk, Indradhyumna Swami.  He and I share the same portfolio which is to share higher consciousness with the public through entertainment. It was a great conversation with a senior godbrother by three or four years.
