We just paid the $10 fee to get to the top Mount McKay when I put a wish out there for driver Prem Kishor and passengers Care and Janardana. “I want to see a bear”. Janardana and I had enjoyed the waters of Lake Superior. The surface of this mighty lake was like glass, practically motionless water. Beautiful ! Once that great swim was over we hankered for the next Krishna thrill, hence the risk.
We were quite fascinated by the view from up top while carrying the spirit of half tourist/ half pilgrim. We appreciated the peaceful nature of the place where many pow wows are performed. We were the only people up there. The breeze brought on a chill. I joked with Janardan,”Why don”t we go back to the water to warm up ?”.
It was time now to leave so I could be punctual about my Gita zoom call where callers and I will discuss Krishna’s divinity. We drove down to the base of Mount McKay when cars spotted something black through bushes and grass. It began to move. Sure enough. There it was. My wishful bear and with two cubs. Most adorable.
We videoed what we could of Mama and her two babies. She seemed to respond well to the Maha mantra. She would momentarily stop her movement and peak her ears at the sound. Anyways, nice dharshan. Nice viewing.
