Halifax, Nova Scotia
A stubbed toe that gets inflamed can surely restrict leg movement. Despite the incident, I was able to hobble along on a 4K step procedure for the day. I believe it was an intelligent burst that led me to the conclusion that I also give it a rest.
Dear toe, you deserve a break!
For a special insight, I was able to observe an expertly handled fundraising for a new facility in the Halifax area. Yes, indeed, a beautiful church, not old, was up for sale in the suburbs. The price was reasonable. All that the community had to do was to make an arrangement for payment. How will everyone be able to keep up maintenance after a downpayment?
First of all, with the cooperation and the conducting of the local Hindu temple, a havan (fire ceremony) we held. Such an act invokes auspiciousness. Once that holy ritual was performed, our boys went right to it. They came up with strategy for reaching a target. Students also participated in monthly contributions. Naturally, all pledges were made, but we can predict that donors will hold to their words as the members have displayed only integrity and kindness since the community here began.
When asked in the assembly place, a side auditorium to the hockey arena, how many wanted a building that’s our own, a place to learn, worship, meditate, and show loving devotion to Krishna, it was unanimous. Everyone was on board.
You can imagine how the Swami (me) felt? Pretty good! More work is to be done, that is, more fundraising was to continue. I returned from the fundraising campaign by way of care and made an observation. Halifax is growing. McDonalds, Costco, Walmart, gas stations, etc. are going up everywhere. Proportionately, places of peace and gratitude need to catch up.
